Battery Technologist
Dell’s CTO team hires some of the brightest and most talented engineers and technologists in the industry. The technologist will define the strategy, influence the industry ecosystem to support the strategy and lead R&D investigations that deliver industry leading experiences in Dell’s client products.

What you will achieve
As the Battery Technologist, you’ll be responsible for defining and driving the execution for Dell’s battery strategy across client notebook and desktop products. Your strategy will be driven by customer needs, competitive insights and technical innovations that enable Dell leadership across the full PC product portfolio. You’ll work with CTO peers, architects, business strategists and marketing shaping the future of battery technology in the modern AI PC era.
You will:
- Define and lead the battery and power strategy, architecture, and system integration to deliver industry-leading solutions in personal computers.
- Drive R&D efforts with battery suppliers and shape industry standards to support and enable Dell’s battery strategy
- Leverage AI/ML for technology innovation in battery and power systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, and external suppliers to define, demonstrate, and deliver innovative battery solutions
- Contribute through technical leadership, mentoring, and intellectual property generation aligned with Dell’s long-term business goals

Essential Requirements:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in battery technologies for personal computer or mobile products.
- Demonstrated track record of impactful innovation and industry thought leadership.
- Proven ability to influence internal and technology partners to drive strategic outcomes.
- Strong understanding of PC battery and power system design including electronics, software and mechanical design for PC or mobile products.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with industry leading battery suppliers.
Desirable Requirements:
- Typically requires 15+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12+ years and a Master’s degree (EE or ME); or 8+ years and a PhD; or equivalent experience
Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $229,500 - $342,650.
