Travel Nurse Job Details

Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (West Virginia or compact state)
- BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- Minimum 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience in a Med/Surg or acute care setting
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly using electronic medical records (EMR)
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning from admission
- Communicate changes in patient status to care team members to ensure continuity and patient safety
- Supervise and provide direction to LPNs, CNAs, and orientees
- Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and safety procedures
- Contribute positively to team building and a supportive work environment
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
