Med/Surg RN Job Details

- Healthcare Setting: On-Site, Medical-Surgical Unit
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts per week, every 3rd weekend
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1780 - $1910 per week
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – New Jersey or compact state
- BLS Certification (required before first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
- Minimum 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience in Med/Surg or acute care
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and create individualized patient care plans within 8 hours of admission
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and participate in patient rehabilitation programs
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
- Initiate discharge planning and provide patient/family education from admission
- Supervise and mentor LPNs, CNAs, and new staff members
- Promote patient and staff safety by following hospital policies and clinical safety protocols
- Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team and seek guidance for complex cases
- Contribute to a positive team environment and participate in unit-based activities
- Maintain professional growth through continuing education and self-study
