Travel Nursing Job Details

- Facility: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center
- Unit: 8 NORTH (Medical Surgical Unit)
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025, End: 3/16/2026)
- Shift: 4x12-Hour Day Shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,780 - $1,910 per week
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Patient Ratio: 1:7 (team nursing model with PCC, LPN, and clinical support)
- Weekend & On-Call: As needed
- Orientation: 16 hours
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical RN experience in a large hospital or acute care setting
- At least 1 completed previous travel nurse assignment
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state (NLC compliance required)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Skills: Telemetry, IV start and maintenance, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Travelers must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- First-time travel nurses not accepted
Medical Surgical RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care to adults and geriatric populations in a busy medical surgical unit
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, and Pharmacy
- Manage patient assignments with a 1:7 ratio, utilizing team nursing and clinical support
- Perform and interpret telemetry, start and maintain IVs, and manage dysrhythmias
- Float between similar units and campuses within 20 miles as needed
- Participate in rapid response and emergency procedures
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR (preferred)
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, including holiday coverage requirements
