Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

- Healthcare Setting: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) – Cardiac Stepdown
- Contract Type: Travel nursing contract
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- End Date: March 15, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30pm – 7:00am)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Unit Size: 64 beds (15 designated Neuro beds)
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2250 - $2310
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent IMCU/PCU experience, including travel nurse experience
- Active New York RN license (verification required via NURSYS)
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Two recent IMCU Charge/Manager RN references
- Skills checklist matching cardiac stepdown specialty
- Valid driver’s license with matching address
- Ability to float to other units as needed
- At least 1 year of nursing experience required
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, respiratory, and post-operative diagnoses
- Monitor and manage patients using specialty equipment: temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, Neptune Vapo, and chronic vents (with RT support)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Accurately document patient care in EPIC EMR
- Float to other nursing units as required to support patient care needs
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and healthcare staff
