- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Shift Options: Variable – 3x12 hour shifts or 4x10 hour shifts preferred
- On Call: 1 weekend day (24 hr) in a 6-week rotation, plus weekday call
- Flexible Scheduling: Yes
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1930-$2070
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (Registered Nurse, New York nursing jobs)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience
- Preoperative nursing experience preferred
- Experience with Meditech preferred (not required)
- Peripheral nerve block experience preferred
- Pediatric nursing experience (age 6 months and older) preferred
- BLS certification required
Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care in both Phase I and Phase II recovery within the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU)
- Manage a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, including simultaneous care of two Phase I patients
- Care for pediatric and adult patients undergoing diverse procedures (ENT, orthopedic, general surgery, neurosurgery, plastics, urology, gynecology, and more)
- Assist in recovery of ICU and endoscopy (MAC) patients
- Support local procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, and minor orthopedic interventions
- Provide nursing care for both inpatient and outpatient procedures, including elective, urgent, and emergent cases
- Document patient care using Meditech and paper charting as needed
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotations
