PCU Nursing Job Details
- Location: Nashville, Tennessee (37207) – Tennessee nursing jobs
- Unit: 3rd, Neuro Med/Surg (Progressive Care Unit)
- Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
- Start Date: December 8, 2025
- End Date: March 9, 2026
- Duration: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Bed Count: 20
- Patient Ratio: 6:1
- Support: Tech support on all shifts; unit secretary 7a-7p
- Documentation: Meditech EMR
- Scheduling: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1530 - $1640
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or PCU nursing experience
- Strong clinical skills in prioritizing care, multitasking, and providing compassionate patient care
- Proficient with IV starts, wound care, surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg Progressive Care Unit
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform routine nursing procedures
- Operate clinical equipment: IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, pulse oximeters, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, iMobile communication technology
- Document patient care using Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Participate in bedside shift reports and build strong relationships with patients and families
- Float to other units as needed per facility policy
