ER RN Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Abilene, Texas (79606) – Texas nursing jobs
- Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (ED)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Start Date: December 1, 2025 (strongly preferred)
- End Date: March 2, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Contract requires 6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
- Patient Ratios: 4:1
- Unit Size: 26 beds, 22 rooms, daily census in the 70s
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1700 - $1820
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state license required at submission)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
- Experience with Allscripts charting system required; Altera experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Must reside at least 150 miles from the facility (per travel nurse guidelines)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance
ER RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics)
- Perform triage, assessment, and rapid response interventions in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Administer blood products and emergency medications
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Start and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy
- Implement isolation precautions and manage ventilators
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services, etc.)
- Accurately document patient care using Allscripts EMR system
