Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 2 years of experience required
• First time travelers accepted
• Float required within Med Surg skillset as needed
• Weekend coverage required - 4-5 shifts per contract
• Patient ratio of 5-6 patients
• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations
• BLS certification required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Acute inpatient rehabilitation setting with patients attending 3 hours of therapy daily (8 AM-3 PM)
• Strong time management skills needed to coordinate patient therapy appointments with medication administration and treatments
• Physical demands include assisting patients with mobility, transfers to bathroom and wheelchair
• Work with high falls risk patient population
• Required skills include heparin drip management, CAPD, tracheostomy care, G-tube management, and wound vac
• Charting system: Cerner
• Ceiling lifts available in all rooms
• Patient diagnoses include CVA, neurology, orthopedic, spinal cord injury, amputees, and debility cases
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Facility:

This healthcare facility specializes in acute inpatient rehabilitation services, featuring a 48-bed unit across two floors with 42 rooms total. The facility maintains a daily census of 18 patients per unit and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary care including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, and specialized equipment. The organization focuses on rehabilitation for patients with various conditions including stroke, neurological disorders, orthopedic injuries, and spinal cord injuries, emphasizing patient mobility and recovery through intensive therapy programs.
