Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details
- Position: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: South Charleston, WV 25309 (West Virginia nursing jobs)
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Cardiac Stepdown/Telemetry (32-bed unit)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts; every other weekend; rotational holidays
- Start Date: November 26, 2025
- End Date: February 25, 2026
- Charting System: EPIC EMR
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1880-$2020
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license in West Virginia or compact state (Registered Nurse jobs in WV)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med-Surg, Telemetry, or Cardiac Stepdown nursing
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency with critical drips and trach care; peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
- Ability to titrate cardiac drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Lasix, Dopamine, Amiodarone)
- Willingness to float to other Med-Surg units or the Emergency Department as needed
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and respiratory conditions
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips during each shift
- Administer and titrate cardiac and critical care drips
- Perform trach care and collaborate with respiratory therapy for advanced oxygen modalities
- Document patient care in EPIC electronic medical record system
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Float to Med-Surg and Emergency Department units as needed
- Participate in unit orientation and ongoing clinical skills assessments
- Adhere to hospital dress code (navy scrubs, closed-toed shoes)
