Sterile Processing Technician Job Details
- Location: Ithaca, NY (Zip: 14850) – New York healthcare jobs
- Setting: Hospital – Sterile Processing Unit
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/9/2024 – End: 3/10/2025)
- Shift: Night shift, 5x8 hour shifts (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM), Monday–Friday
- Hours per Week: 40 (Guaranteed)
- Rotating Weekends & Holidays: Required per operational needs
- Employment Type: Travel Contract – clinical support role
Sterile Processing Technician Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in a hospital or clinical healthcare setting
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician (SP Tech Certification) required
- Ability to work night shifts and participate in weekend/holiday rotations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to infection control standards
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills in a healthcare environment
Sterile Processing Technician Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and inventory management
- Collaborate with surgical and nursing teams to ensure timely availability of sterile supplies
- Follow hospital policies and procedures for infection prevention and patient safety
- Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled
