Travel Nurse Job Details

- Facility: Level I Trauma Center – Cardiac ICU (CVICU)
- Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract
- Start Date: January 2, 2026
- End Date: April 3, 2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM); options for 3x12 or 4x12 per week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Charting System: Epic EMR
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,880–$2,020 per week
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Connecticut RN license required; pending license accepted)
- Minimum 3 years of recent Cardiac ICU nursing experience
- At least 1 year of Level I Trauma Center experience
- Proficient in Swan-Ganz monitoring and advanced cardiac equipment
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CCRN preferred)
- Epic charting experience
- Previous charge nurse experience
- Ability to float to ICU and PCU units as needed
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Professional reference required
- Travel nurses only (must reside >75 miles from facility)
CVICU RN Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care to adult patients with complex cardiac conditions: post-CABG, valve repairs/replacements, aneurysm repairs, heart/kidney transplants, VAD implantation
- Manage high-acuity patients using advanced cardiac devices: ECMO, IABP, Impella, CentriMag, VAD
- Perform and monitor Swan-Ganz catheterization, arterial line management, and central line care
- Assist with procedures: bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion/removal, sheath removal
- Interpret dysrhythmias, ABGs, and manage cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Administer blood products, emergency medications, and procedural sedation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: PT, RT, pharmacy, social services
- Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
- Float to ICU and PCU units within scope as needed
