ER Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience required
- Active West Virginia or Compact RN license (pending license acceptable)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association; TNCC preferred
- Expertise in rapid assessment, triage, trauma management, and advanced life support
- Proficient in IV access and emergency interventions
- Provide at least 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
- Permanent address must be more than 100 miles from facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- First-time travel nurses not accepted
ER Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency care to patients in the ER
- Perform rapid assessments, triage, and manage trauma and medical emergencies
- Initiate and manage advanced life support measures
- Establish IV access and perform emergency interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and unit secretary
- Accurately document all patient care activities
- Participate in weekend rotations as scheduled
