Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Des Moines, IA 50309
- Healthcare Setting: Pulmonary/Medical Surgical Unit (23 beds)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/22/2025 – End: 3/23/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1880 - $2020
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Weekend Requirement: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Floating: Required across all hospital campuses
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- Experience with pulmonary/ventilated patients (bi-pap, trach care, etc.)
- Current ACLS (AHA) and BLS certifications
- Ability to care for COVID+ patients
- First-time travel nurses welcome with required experience
- Submission of work history/resume, skills checklist (completed within 1 year), license verification, and references
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to medical-surgical and pulmonary patients using the nursing process
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive patient care
- Monitor and manage patients on heparin drips, bi-pap, and trach care
- Float to various units and hospital campuses as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR system
- Educate and support patients and families with compassionate care
