Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience and an active NH or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a birthing pavilion within a hospital setting
- Labor & Delivery unit with 21 rooms, a 2-bed triage room, and 2 operating rooms
- Unit averages approximately 1300 deliveries per year
- Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN staffing guidelines, including 1:1 for active labor with Pitocin, 1:2 for cervical ripening and high-risk medications, and 1:3 for antepartum and postpartum couplets
- Shift options include day/night rotation or nights only
- 36-hour and 48-hour workweeks are available
- Provide care for laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients in accordance with AWHONN guidelines
- Administer and monitor high-risk medications, including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Insulin drips
- Strict 75-mile radius rule applies to all applicants
- Candidates must ensure licensure and certifications remain active throughout the assignment
- First-time travelers will be considered
Requirements
- Active NH or compact RN license required and must remain current for the duration of the assignment
- Current BLS certification required
- Must have recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years
- Two professional references from managers are required for consideration
- No local candidates permitted; candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
