Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license in Ohio or compact state (required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience (required)
- 6 months of acute care hospital nursing experience (preferred)
- BLS certification (required prior to direct patient care)
- ACLS and NIH Stroke Certification (preferred)
- Successful completion of Dysrhythmia exam (study guide provided)
- EPIC EHR experience (preferred)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred)
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards
- Coordinate patient care and serve as the primary contact for care coordination
- Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including spiritual and palliative care
- Manage care for patients with multi-system organ failure, trauma, or complex conditions
- Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions using evidence-based practice
- Support patients and families, advocating for their healthcare choices
- Assign and delegate patient care based on staff skill and scope of practice
- Provide education and orientation to nursing staff and healthcare team members
- Revise care plans as needed based on ongoing assessments
- Care for patients with chest tubes, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced respiratory modalities
- Utilize EPIC EHR and other clinical technologies for documentation and care coordination
- Maintain professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and effective communication at all times
