Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a night shift position in a high-acuity emergency department requiring at least two years of ED experience and multiple certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital emergency department with 25 procedure rooms, a secure psychiatric annex, and additional hallway beds
- Patient population includes trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, psychiatric, and multi-comorbidity cases
- Patient ratio is typically 4:1 but may flex higher during acute surge periods
- Uses equipment such as U/S IV, Lucas Device, Hotline Rapid Infuser, Alaris pumps, Pyxis
- EMR systems are Sunrise and Allscripts
- Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend work is required
- No floating to other areas required
- Care responsibilities include trauma, stroke care, laceration and ortho trauma management, psychiatric and cardiopulmonary care
- Procedures performed include U/S IV and IO insertions, EKG, eye exams, and protocol-driven patient management
- RN may initiate protocol-based labs, x-rays, medications, and workups based on chief complaint
- Team includes charge RNs, staff RNs, ED Techs, and resource personnel with strong interdisciplinary collaboration
- Scrub attire is required; no hooded shirts or sweatshirts allowed
- Motivated, dependable, adaptable candidates with strong problem-solving skills are best suited for this environment
Requirements
- Active NH or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years recent ED experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, MOAB, and TNCC
- Strong adaptability, communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills required
- Must provide US Social Security Number and date of birth for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
