Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (Registered Nurse jobs in Virginia)
- Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills for cardiovascular nursing
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity hospital environments
CVICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients
- Monitor, assess, and document patient status and progress in the CVICU
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and operate advanced cardiac monitoring equipment
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on cardiac treatment plans and recovery processes
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive hospital environment for patients
