MAX ATTEMPTS IS 2****There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation. *Surgical ICU - Trauma Neuro Surgery# Beds32Nurse:Patient Ratios1:2, 1:1Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS)BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Level 1 trauma Center, Falls, GSW, blunt trauma, MVAs, trauma patients over age of 15. Ex-lap, crani, speciality neuro-surgery cases. CVA, status post-TPA, COVID, sepsis, ARDS.Experience or 'Must have' skillsAre RNs required to titrate dripsYesCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: Propofol, fentanyl, versed, precedex, morphine, dilaudid, ketamine, rocuronium, levophed, vasopressin, cardene, labetatol, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, insulinCharge NurseYes, do not take patientsAre there nurse aids on this unit/Ratiosno, only used for sitters and as Health Unit Secretary Hospitalist or Intensivist in houseYes, 24/7RT in ICU 24/7YesRT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc)Dreager, Hamilton, Puritan Benette 840, V60s Bipap, Airvo Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit Are RNs required to read their own strips What brand are the tele monitorsNo monitor techs on unit, RN required to intrepret own strip. Expectation is to float between all 3 ICUs.Additional Questions: Okay with first time traveler, however must have 3 years experience (with 2 of those years in the ICU). Level 1 experience or neuro experience not required but preferred.
