Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Kankakee, Illinois (60901) – Illinois healthcare jobs
- Facility Setting: Acute Care Hospital – Float Pool (Med/Surg, Telemetry, IMCU, Rehab, Behavioral Health)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (5:00am – 5:30pm)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing – Registered Nurse jobs
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (must have license in hand)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience (float pool experience preferred)
- EPIC EMR charting experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred (no first-time travelers for float pool)
- Valid driver's license required for submission
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Float between Med/Surg, Med Peds, Telemetry, IMCU, Rehab, and Behavioral Health units as needed
- Deliver high-quality patient care for diverse diagnoses: acute surgical, orthopedic/neuro, detox, hospice, pediatric respiratory illness, CHF, and post-surgical cases
- Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6 (IMCU 1:5); collaborate with LPNs and CNAs
- Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
- Administer and monitor medications, including titrating heparin per protocol
- Participate in unit orientation and ongoing clinical training
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Follow facility policies, including daily assignment check-in and scrub color guidelines (Caribbean blue)
