Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer for a 13-week assignment requiring ARDMS or CCI certification and at least one year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in an echocardiography department serving adult and pediatric patients
- Perform comprehensive echocardiographic studies including transesophageal and stress echo procedures
- Outreach services may be required
- Monday to Friday schedule with 8-hour day shifts
- No call and no weekend shifts
- Uses Epic for charting
- Responsibilities include performing echo studies, documenting findings, and assisting with training and education of trainees and students
- Must demonstrate flexibility in learning equipment and procedures
- Must utilize proper sterile and isolation techniques
- Physical demands include frequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulder level, and occasional twisting
- Must demonstrate proficiency in outlined competencies
- Expected to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Must provide care for a patient population ranging from neonate to geriatric
- Outreach and holiday coverage may be occasionally needed
Requirements
- Active ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification required
- BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross required
- One year of experience in cardiac sonography required
- Experience with adult and pediatric echocardiography including transesophageal and stress echo preferred
- Associates degree or graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited sonography program required
- Knowledge of cardiac pathophysiology, diagnostic procedures, and patient care procedures required
- Proven ability to work with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- COVID vaccination and booster required
- No pending license allowed at time of consideration
- License required if applicable
