Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry Post-Intervention position requiring Level 1 Trauma and telemetry interpretation experience in an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Cardiac Telemetry Post-Intervention unit within an acute care hospital
- Unit has 18 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1
- Patient population includes post-cath lab/interventional procedure patients, chest pain, ACS, and CHF
- The unit is a Level 1 Trauma center
- 12-hour day shifts with a minimum of four weekend shifts per four weeks
- May be required to work holidays depending on unit needs
- Floating required to other Telemetry/MedSurg units as needed
- Cerner EMR is used and experience is required
- Nurses are required to interpret telemetry
- BiPAP ventilation used in the unit
- RNs are expected to regularly perform and maintain sterile technique for procedures such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
- Charge nurse may take patients if needed; two nurse aides present if unit is full
- Travel teams must have their own transportation for commuting
- Navy scrubs are required for all staff
- RT and pharmacy support available 24/7
- First-time travelers will be considered if meeting all requirements
- Candidates who have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit facility within the past year are not eligible
- All RNs must be clean-shaven for mask fit testing; natural hair color and no facial piercings are required
Requirements
- Active AZ or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of two years recent RN experience with Level 1 Trauma required
- Experience with Cerner EMR required
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts allowed)
- Must pass a pass/fail SIMs Lab on day one for sterile technique including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
- Ability to interpret cardiac telemetry
- Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
- Two references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility as verified by driver’s license
