Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Austin, TX 78704 (South Austin)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Job
- Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg), 2 Central, 10 beds
- Start Date: December 1, 2025
- End Date: March 2, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour day shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1260-$1350
- On-Site Position
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license or compact state nursing license
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
- Strong clinical communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical patients in a 10-bed unit
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including RNs, LVNs, and CNAs
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Meditech EMR system
- Administer medications, treatments, and perform essential nursing procedures
- Support post-surgical patient recovery and manage overflow from emergency department (ED) holds
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and dress code (scrub color per policy)
- Promote a positive, supportive environment for patients and healthcare colleagues
