- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000 - $2050
- Unit Details: 3rd Med Surg/Tele, 48 beds, telemetry monitoring for up to 10 patients
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (Registered Nurse) required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS certification (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred
- Preferred: Charge nurse experience
- Preferred: Experience with Meditech charting system
- Ability to float to other Med/Surg units as needed
- Weekend coverage required (every 2nd to 3rd weekend)
- Minimum of one supervisor reference required
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with chronic and acute medical conditions (COVID-19, telemetry, post-surgical, CVA, diabetes, renal disease, COPD, pneumonia, cellulitis)
- Monitor and manage telemetry patients with stable dysrhythmias
- Administer medications and blood products using Pyxis system
- Perform phlebotomy, IV starts, and manage peripheral/PICC lines
- Care for patients with feeding tubes, colostomies, surgical drains, chest tubes, and oxygen therapy
- Implement isolation precautions and wound care, including wound vac
- Utilize SBAR communication for effective interdisciplinary collaboration
- Participate in rapid response/code teams as needed
- Support pre/post hemodialysis and neuro-surgical management
- Float to other Med/Surg units as required
