Job Details – Chicago Nursing Contract
- Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
- Facility: Level 1 Trauma Center – General Medicine/Telemetry Unit (Med/Surg)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/09/2025 – End: 03/10/2026)
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (19:00 – 07:30)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1800–$1840
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends/month)
- Floating: Mandatory float within scope to other units/facilities (up to 50 miles)
- Charting System: Cerner
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue (not provided)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (required for Chicago nursing jobs)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in a Med/Surg setting
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions for flu only)
- Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation, tracheostomy care, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, and rapid response/code team participation
- Ability to complete compliance requirements promptly
- Locals accepted (within 75 miles of facility)
RN Responsibilities – Medical/Surgical Unit
- Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in the General Medicine/Telemetry Unit
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and treatment responses
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, administer medications, and perform tracheostomy and peripheral line care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Participate in rapid response and code teams
- Float to other units/facilities as needed to support patient care
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, procedures, and documentation standards
