Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
- Location: Columbia, SC 29203 (South Carolina nursing jobs)
- Unit: Cardiac Stepdown / Surgical Stepdown (IMC/IICU)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/22/2025 – End: 3/23/2026)
- Patient Ratio: 1:3
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Charting System: EPIC (minimum 1 year experience required)
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1800-$1840
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active South Carolina RN license or multistate compact nursing license (no pending licenses)
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in high-acuity settings (ICU, IICU, IMC, PCU, DOU, or Stepdown)
- At least 1 completed travel nurse assignment required
- First-time travelers: 3 years of specialty experience and critical care background
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, telemetry, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Experience with ventilator management
- 1 year of EPIC charting experience
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology needs requiring frequent monitoring or interventions
- Monitor and manage cardiac rhythms, respond to emergencies, and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Care for ventilated patients and those with complex post-surgical or neurological conditions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Utilize advanced clinical equipment such as Hercules patient repositioners, ceiling lifts, and Airtaps
- Float to other qualified nursing units or campuses as needed
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
