Travel Nurse Job Details

- Healthcare Setting: Renal Med/Surg Telemetry Unit (36-bed unit)

- Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00-07:00), every other weekend, holidays as required

Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing (required)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or Compact State (no temporary licenses accepted)
- BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross (required)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred; candidates with at least 18 months of experience considered if 1 year is in Med/Surg Telemetry
- Ability to float to other units and hospitals as needed
Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with acute or chronic kidney disease, including renal replacement therapy
- Manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, specializing in post-hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis care
- Collaborate with nephrologists, family practice providers, and hospitalists for comprehensive patient care
- Support patients throughout their treatment journey, from diagnosis to ongoing management
- Float to other units or hospitals as required to meet patient care needs
- Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR
- Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and dress code
