Operating Room RN Job Details

- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: December 16, 2025
- End Date: March 17, 2026
- Shift: Day shift, Friday-Sunday, 3x12-hour shifts (06:30 - 19:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: Main Operating Room, Level II Trauma Center
- Orientation: 3-4 days
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required
- Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1860-$2000
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience (2-3 years preferred)
- Travel nursing experience required
- Experience in community hospital and Level II Trauma Center required
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (all required for OR RN jobs)
- Robotic XI, orthopedic, spine/neuro, general/gyn, ENT, ophthalmology, pain management, urology, vascular, and trauma experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Ability to provide care for all age groups: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics
- Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted (travel nurse position)
Operating Room RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative nursing care to surgical patients
- Assist with a wide variety of surgical procedures: robotic, orthopedic, spine/neuro, general, gynecological, ENT, ophthalmology, pain management, urology, vascular, and trauma cases
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner electronic health records
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical education to stay current with best practices in operating room nursing
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and hospital protocols
- Promote a positive, efficient, and supportive operating room environment
