Cath Lab Technologist – Weirton, WV

Unit: Cath Lab Tech
Setting: Acute Care – Cardiac Cath Lab
Shift & Hours
- Shift: 5:30 AM – 6:00 PM (12-hr shifts)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
- Call Requirements:
- Varied weekday call
- One full weekend (Fri–Sun) every 2nd or 3rd weekend
- Part of Holiday call rotation
- 30-minute call response time
- Orientation: 2–3 shifts with preceptor
- Cancellation: Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13 weeks
Requirements
- Experience:
- 2+ years Cath Lab experience – REQUIRED
- Must be trained in scrub, imaging, or both
- Must have exposure to IR & peripheral vascular cases
- Must have experience with:
- Impella
- IABP
- Shockwave
- IVUS
- FFR / IFR
- Swan-Ganz
- Rotablator (“roto”)
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- ARRT (R) – Certified Radiologic Technologist
- RCIS (CCI) – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
- Licensure:
- Must be licensed and license must be active with no hits
- 50-mile radius rule (must live >50 miles away)
- Driver’s license copy required at submission
- BSN Required? No
Unit & Clinical Details
- Labs/Suites:
- 3 Cath/IR Labs
- 1 Hybrid OR
- 7 Holding Rooms
- Cases: ~16 per day
- Common Procedures:
- PCI, LHC/RHC
- Pacemaker implants
- Vascular cases, IR cases
- Mediports, dialysis catheters
- AAA stenting (hybrid room)
- Equipment:
- Impella, IABP, IVUS, FFR/IFR, Shockwave, Swan-Ganz, Rotablator
- EMR/Systems:
- Cerner Soarian
- GE MacLab (switching to Philips Xper in 2026)
- Team Structure:
- 4-person team: 2 RNs + 2 Techs
- 1 tech scrubs, 1 tech does imaging
- Techs do not monitor or document
- Charge nurse present and assists with flow
- Scrubs: Royal blue – provided
- Floating: None
