PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

- Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45pm – 7:15am), every other weekend
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Holiday Availability: Required
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $1960
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient RN experience in acute care or PCU
- Active Kentucky Registered Nurse license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required for healthcare jobs in Kentucky)
- Experience with Epic electronic medical records
- Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN)
PCU RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care in the Progressive Care Unit
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and reassessments per hospital policy and patient condition
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions and treatments
- Facilitate and evaluate patient and family education throughout the care continuum
- Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel as appropriate
- Mentor and precept new nursing staff, fostering teamwork and a positive work environment
- Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives within the healthcare facility
- Comply with regulatory standards and organizational policies
