Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Dickson, TN 37055 – Experience Tennessee healthcare in a welcoming community near Nashville, with access to beautiful parks and small-town charm.
- Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg), 26 beds
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
- Start Date: November 24, 2025
- End Date: February 16, 2026
- Duration: 12-week travel nursing assignment
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1530 - $1640
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Tennessee or compact state
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills
- Effective time management and ability to float to other Med/Surg units
- Compliance with hospital dress code: Royal, Galaxy, Pewter Gray, or White scrubs
Med/Surg Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care to medical-surgical patients in a 26-bed unit
- Maintain safe patient ratios (1:6 or team nursing up to 1:9)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including charge nurses, unit secretaries, and patient care technicians (PCTs)
- Operate Alaris IV pumps and document care using Meditech EMR
- Perform hourly purposeful rounds and participate in bedside shift reports
- Enhance patient experience through AIDET communication standards
- Follow all unit guidelines, hospital policies, and procedures
