Job Title: Physician Assistant
Job Summary
The Physician Assistant (PA) will support physicians in delivering high-quality patient care and will play an active role in facilitating patient recovery. The PA will apply medical techniques and principles under the supervision of a physician, working with a diverse patient population while providing compassionate care, education, and encouragement.
Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide healthcare services under the supervision of a physician.
- Examine patients, obtain and record medical histories, and perform physical examinations.
- Treat minor injuries, including sutures, splints, and wound care.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests; diagnose medical conditions.
- Prescribe medications and therapies with physician approval.
- Issue prescriptions and administer medications as appropriate.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment, adjust care plans, and counsel patients.
Patient Management
- Assess patient health needs and take action to meet them effectively.
- Acquire and review patient histories, identifying abnormal conditions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of treatments, procedures, surgeries, and other medical events.
- Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine procedures (vitals, injections, etc.).
- Attend to urgent situations and medical emergencies as needed.
Team Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient concerns, discrepancies, or changes in condition.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members across various specialties.

Qualifications
Required
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Active New York State Physician Assistant License.
- Current New York Controlled Substance and DEA registration.
- NCCPA Certification.
- Training or experience in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Acute Care.
Preferred
- DOT, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
- Bilingual (Spanish strongly preferred).
- Experience with EMR systems.
- Prior clinical experience as a Physician Assistant.
