PCU Nursing Job Details

- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Start Date: December 14, 2025
- End Date: March 15, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 – 19:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve or New Year's Day
- On-Call: None
- Orientation: Comprehensive orientation with EPIC EMR training
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1750 - $1870
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Critical Care, ICU, or Progressive Care Unit
- Proficient in CRRT, Bipap management, lab draws, chest tube and PICC line care
- Ability to work independently: no vascular access team, responsible for own consults and codes
- Active Kansas RN License or Compact RN License
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications
- Ability to float to ICU, Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and Emergency Department as needed
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Nicotine-free (non-smoker) required for this healthcare job
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit
- Perform advanced clinical procedures: CRRT, Bipap, lab draws, chest tube and PICC line management
- Independently manage patient consults and respond to codes
- Float to other inpatient units, adapting to diverse patient populations
- Accurately document care and interventions using EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
