Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric CVICU RN with at least one year of pediatric critical care experience and a MA RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Pediatric Cardiac ICU (CVPICU) within an acute care hospital setting
- Primarily cares for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease in pre and post-operative phases
- Patient population includes critically ill cardiac and surgical pediatric patients
- Requires floating to MSICU, MICU, NICU, and ACCU as needed
- Rotating 12-hour day (7a-7p) and night (7p-7a) shifts, with the option for permanent nights
- Scheduled to work 3 out of every 6 weekends
- No on-call requirement
- Charting system is currently Cerner, transitioning to Epic
- Work within a Magnet-recognized, Level I trauma, and Level III/IV NICU pediatric hospital
- Assigned to a multidisciplinary team caring for high-acuity cardiac pediatric patients
- Locals are accepted if residing within a 50-mile radius at a differentiated rate
- Free parking is provided for night shift; discounted options for day/evening shifts with shuttle service
- Scrub attire is any solid color in most units
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position
- Professional references from two of the last three employers are required for consideration
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 1 year recent pediatric critical care nursing experience
- Current certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Prior travel experience as an RN is required
- Experience with pre and post-operative care for congenital heart disease (CHD) patients
