Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele float pool position requiring a MA RN license and Epic EMR experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Nursing Float Pool covering Med/Surg Telemetry units
- Hospital setting with assignments throughout various inpatient and specialty units including ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding areas
- Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5
- Assignment length is 8 weeks with 12-hour day shifts
- Floating occurs in 4-hour blocks within a shift, with potential to float every 4 hours though this is rare
- Required to work every other weekend (both Saturday and Sunday for days)
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Candidates must be prepared to float to multiple units and respond to changing patient needs
- Relias practice tests are available in advance for onboarding
- Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
- No time off (RTO) is allowed within the 8-week winter assignment period
- Any color scrubs are acceptable attire
Requirements
- Active MA RN license in hand is required
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required
- ACLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications are preferred
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Level 1 trauma experience is preferred; if no prior travel, Level 1 trauma experience is required
- Pass/fail Tele/ECG and medication test administered on day one
- COVID vaccine and booster, as well as flu vaccination, are required (medical exemptions allowed)
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- A 6-month break is required for any previous employment (travel, perm, per diem) with Beth Israel Lahey Health
