Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 – Owen Heart Center, 5th Floor
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Dress Code: All white, all navy blue, or white top with navy blue pants
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1800
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent stepdown, telemetry, or progressive care experience
- Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications (nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex/Lasix)
- Preferred: Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) and relief charge experience
- Flexible, positive attitude, and strong team player
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac and complex medical needs (CHF, MI, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, post-cardiac procedures)
- Monitor and interpret telemetry; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer and titrate cardiac IV medications as ordered
- Perform bedside procedures such as cardioversion
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge nurses, PCTs, and unit secretaries
- Float as needed to MedSurg, Stepdown, COVID, and ER holding units
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
- Uphold unit policies and contribute to a compassionate care environment
