Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 5th Floor, Owen Heart Center
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
- Start Date: December 7, 2025
- End Date: March 8, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Dress Code: All white, all navy blue, or white top with navy blue pants
PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent stepdown or progressive care nursing experience
- Telemetry nursing experience
- Proficient with titratable and cardiac IV medications (nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex/Lasix)
- Preferred: Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) and relief charge nurse duties
- Strong teamwork, flexibility, and positive attitude
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-cardiac procedures
- Monitor and interpret telemetry; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer and titrate cardiac and critical care IV medications
- Perform bedside procedures such as cardioversion
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including charge nurses, PCTs, and unit secretaries
- Float to MedSurg, Stepdown, COVID, and ER holding units as needed
- Document accurately using Cerner EMR
- Maintain compliance with unit policies and participate in orientation and ongoing education
