RN - PCU Float Pool Stepdown
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Float throughout Zone 1 facilities within 60-mile radius with no home base facility
• Required to work 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:3-4 depending on acuity
• Must have 2 years of PCU/IMC experience required
• Prior neuro experience and Epic experience preferred
• Must be comfortable titrating and managing cardiac drips, insulin, ativan, and heparin
• Work with titratable drips including dopamine, dobutamine, cardizem, amiodarone, ativan, insulin, and heparin
• Float between multiple PCU/IMC units covering various specialties including general, cardiac, neuro, oncology, rehab, renal, bariatrics, ortho, trauma, and ED observation
• Care for adult to geriatric population with various diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, oncology, post-surgical, and general medicine patients
• May float to other acuity levels including ICU, PCU/stepdown, and medical-surgical telemetry
• 1-2 day orientation with preceptor
• Schedule made by leadership for 6 weeks at a time with expectation of flexibility
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Rare call or standby requirements for low census
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, TNCC
• Must be in state for week of orientation
• Must submit driver's license and obtain housing that accommodates 60-mile floating radius
