Key Job Details – Oncology RN Travel Contract
- Location: Bel Air, MD 21014 (Maryland healthcare jobs)
- Unit: 5T Oncology – Med/Surg Telemetry
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1790-$1920
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 (nights)
- Orientation: 24 hours
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (Oncology nursing experience preferred)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or Compact state
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification and NIHSS preferred
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system required
- Community hospital nursing experience required
- Ability to float within the hospital as needed
- Two professional references required (one supervisor/manager and one charge RN)
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- CPI certification may be required (Calm Every Storm online version accepted)
- Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (travel nurse eligibility)
Med/Surg Tele RN – Oncology Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric oncology patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and other medications safely and accurately
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, respond to abnormal lab values and patient status changes
- Perform central line and port care, phlebotomy, wound care, and IV management
- Educate and support patients and families throughout the oncology treatment process
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic EHR
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, including neutropenic and isolation precautions
- Float to other nursing units within scope of practice as needed
