ICU RN Job Details – Mayfield, KY
- Location: Mayfield, KY 42066 (Western Kentucky healthcare jobs)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1780–$1910
- Setting: 8-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Adult and Geriatric patient population
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (Start: 11/30/2025 – End: 3/1/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week, every other weekend required
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
- Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
- Electronic Health Record: Meditech Magic
ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kentucky or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
- Current certifications: ACLS, PALS, Handle with Care
- Completion of AHA EKG/Rhythm course
- Ability to float to MedSurg and Behavioral Health units as needed
- Strong critical thinking, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Professional appearance: solid color scrubs (no logos or cartoon characters)
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric ICU patients
- Manage a 2:1 patient ratio, ensuring close monitoring and timely interventions for critical care patients
- Respond to a range of critical diagnoses, including respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, GI bleed, Afib RVR, CHF, and chronic renal failure
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Float to MedSurg and Behavioral Health units as required
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech Magic EHR
- Demonstrate high energy, adaptability, and a commitment to patient safety in the ICU setting
