Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Missouri or compact state)
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience
- Experience in acute care or rehabilitation nursing preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts
- Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to patient safety and quality healthcare
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission
- Develop and implement individualized care plans with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning
- Provide direction, training, and supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, following all healthcare safety policies
- Communicate changes in patient status to the care team to ensure continuity of care
- Contribute to positive team building and a supportive healthcare work environment
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
