Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Cath Lab position requiring a MO or compact RN license and at least 1 year of cath lab experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Cath Lab of an acute care, tertiary teaching hospital
- Provide patient care for diagnoses such as AMI, chest pain, heart failure, NSTEMI, aortic stenosis, V-Tach, endocarditis, Afib, peripheral vascular disease, and sick sinus syndrome
- RN circulator role including working in diagnostic and interventional PCI environments
- Patient ratio is 1:1
- Specialized procedures include RN circulator duties, conscious sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, and potential cross-training as monitor tech
- Utilizes Epic EMR for all documentation
- Works 4x10 hour day shifts (7:00-17:30) with every other weekend required
- On-call rotation required: 1 night per week and every 2nd to 4th weekend
- Floats within the service line as needed
- Responsibilities include circulating in the Cath Lab, conscious sedation management, sterile supply handling, vital assessment, and procedural documentation
- May cross-train to monitor tech role for running hemodynamics
- Works with specialized equipment such as Impella and IABP
- Wear navy scrubs while on shift
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Must participate in fit testing; facial hair must be compliant for mask use
- Parking options available for a fee; orientation parking not reimbursed
- Holiday coverage follows unit requirements
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- 1 year of Cath Lab RN experience required; interventional scrub experience needed
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Up to 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week
- Return travelers must have a 1-year gap from permanent employment at the facility
- Ability to complete pre-employment modules as part of onboarding
