Job Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,880 - $2,020
Medical-Surgical RN Job Details
- Location: Kearney, Nebraska 68845
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: December 1, 2025 – End: March 2, 2026)
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Medical-Surgical Unit (23 beds)
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (18:00–06:30)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: May float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for Med/Surg assignments (unless telemetry trained)
- Charting System: EPIC
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as required (no more than one holiday off during contract)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population in a 23-bed Medical-Surgical unit
- Manage patient assignments with a nurse-to-patient ratio of up to 1:6 (1:5 on weekday day shifts)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Document patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic charting system
- Float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) as needed for Med/Surg assignments
- Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and procedures
