Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med-Surg Neuro position caring for complex neurological and post-surgical patients requiring Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience.
Responsibilities
- Position based in a 21-bed Med-Surg Neuro unit
- Patient population includes neuromuscular disorders, meningitis, stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, brain and spine tumor resections, spinal surgery, and head and neck cancer
- Primary Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Center, the only epilepsy center in Vermont and New Hampshire
- Care for patients with implanted electrodes, scalp leads, trachs/laryngectomies, and central lines
- Handles telemetry and complex wound care
- Day/night rotating shifts, 36 hours per week
- Will provide nursing care to medical, neurological, and post-surgical patients
- Only candidates meeting trauma experience and radius requirements will be considered
- Work within an advanced care setting including stroke and epilepsy center designations
Requirements
- Active NH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience within the past 2 years required
- Experience with chest tubes, drips (Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone), lines/tubes/drains, trachs/laryngectomies, telemetry, complex wounds, and central line care and blood draws required
- No local candidates accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius
