Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Willingboro, NJ 08046 (New Jersey healthcare jobs)
- Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit
- Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (3x12 per week)
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Openings: 3 Med/Surg RN positions
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,780 - $1,910
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New Jersey RN license preferred)
- BLS Certification (required before first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
- Minimum 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience
- Prior experience in Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing strongly preferred
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to identify teaching needs and care goals
- Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
- Provide direct patient care and participate in patient rehabilitation programs using the nursing process
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the time of admission
- Communicate changes in patient status to physicians and care providers to ensure patient safety and continuity of care
- Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff or orientees
- Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and clinical best practices
- Contribute to a positive unit environment and participate in team-building activities
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after orientation
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to advance nursing skills
