HIGHLIGHTS:
- Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years Med/Tele RN experience
- Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
- RN License (Associate's degree at a minimum)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm) test completed during onboarding
- Floating: All adult med surg / telemetry units in house
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 (on a 6-week schedule)
- On call? If so, what is that schedule? No call
- Holiday Expectations: work one shift of each major holiday (Thanksgiving Day or day after + 12/24 or 12/25 + 12/31 or 1/1
- RTO Requests: Manager approval
- Shift times: 12-hour shifts 7A-7P or 7P-7A
- Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks

- Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Chest pain, syncope/vomiting, abdominal pain, cellulitis, COPD exacerbation, heart failure observation, dehydration, hypertension, diabetes, POD#1 requiring hospital stay overnight, simple trauma, MVC, fall
- Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Waiting an Inpatient Room for admission (used to decompress the ER)
- Skills required: trach chare, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, drips to titrate to HR NOT BP
- Skills required: Strong clinical assessment and time management
- Skills required: IV insertion and Maintenance skills
- Skills required: Cardiac monitoring and interpretation
- Skills required: Care coordination with interdisciplinary teams
- Skills required: Discharge planning knowledge and patient education
- Support within the Department: CNA: assist with VS, Glucose Checks, baths, feeding, ambulating patients, assisting turning patients, hourly rounding, transporting patients as needed (Hospital has designated Transport Team); obtain blood from blood bank
- Support within the Department: Unit secretary on unit 7a-11p; then house wide call secretary 11p-7a
- Support within the Department: Charge nurse may or may not have patient assignment
- Support within the Department: Phlebotomy: Most units are lab collect phlebotomy; nurses drawn from CVLs
- Support within the Department: IV/VAT Team? No IV team- do have a PICC team
- Support within the Department: Resource Nurse? Yes, we have discharge nurses and Resource team floats to all units
- Support within the Department: RT 24/7
- Support within the Department: Hospitalist 24/7
