ER RN Job Details – Asheville, NC

- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing – ER RN jobs
- Start Date: December 14, 2025
- End Date: March 15, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: 12 Hour Days (09:00-21:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit Size: 101 beds
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required; flexible scheduling available
Emergency Room Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 1 year as an ER RN
- Experience in Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (must be current before start date)
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department
- Commitment to excellent patient experience, including AIDET communication and respectful care
ER RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
- Monitor and manage patients using Baxter infusion pumps and GE patient monitors
- Document patient care in Cerner EMR system
- Collaborate with healthcare team members including techs, unit clerks, and other clinical staff
- Coach and support fellow nurses, fostering a positive and collaborative healthcare environment
- Float to all sections of the Emergency Department as needed
- Maintain accurate patient boards and communicate effectively with patients and families
- Adhere to department policies, navy scrubs dress code, and attendance guidelines
