Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Details
- Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama (Zip: 35401) – Alabama nursing jobs
- Facility: Heart Failure / Stroke Unit (42 beds)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) contract
- Shift: 12-hour days (07:00-19:00), every other weekend, holidays as required
- Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours per week)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/8/2026)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,720 - $1,840
- Parking: Onsite parking available
- Scrub Colors: Solid Navy
- EMR System: Meditech
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing required
- Active Alabama RN license or Compact Registered Nurse license (no temporary licenses)
- Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
- At least 18 months of overall RN experience preferred
- Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed
Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care to patients with neurological and cardiac conditions, including congestive heart failure and acute stroke
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists and neurologists to deliver best-practice patient care
- Manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
- Float to other units and hospitals as required for clinical support
- Work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system
