- Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $1,650 - $1,770 per week
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Position Type: Travel Nursing – On-Site
- Location: Chicago, IL 60649 (South Side, near Lake Michigan, parks, and diverse neighborhoods)
- Unit: Pediatric Cardiac Stepdown Unit
- Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/24/2025 – End: 2/23/2026)
- Patient Ratio: 1:3–4
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Free Parking: Available in facility lots
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric stepdown, cardiac stepdown, or PICU nursing experience
- Active Illinois RN license (required at time of submission)
- BLS and PALS certifications
- Proven experience with ventilated pediatric patients, tracheostomy care, and gastric tube management
- Meditech charting experience
- Ability to manage a 1:4 patient ratio in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccine and current booster required
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients with chronic illnesses and technology dependence (ventilators, tracheostomies, G tubes)
- Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient status; collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
- Accurately document patient care using Meditech EMR
- Float within scope to support facility needs
- Participate in weekend rotations and block scheduling
- Maintain a professional appearance; pediatric-themed scrubs encouraged
