Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for the Surgical Specialty Float Pool requiring prior travel and step down experience.

Responsibilities

Work in a hospital float pool covering the surgical specialty unit
Float to various units as needed based on patient census and acuity
Primarily night shifts with three 12-hour shifts per week
Care for a variety of patient populations ranging from simple to complex conditions
Responsible for coordinating and evaluating nursing services and maintaining accurate documentation
Must effectively interact with patients, families, and hospital staff
May be delegated charge or preceptor responsibilities if experienced
Nursing care duties include medication administration, monitoring IVs, assisting with physician exams, and educating patients and families

Requirements

Active OK or compact RN license required
At least 1 year of recent RN experience
Must have previous travel nursing experience
Step down unit experience required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
